—About Us—

Francesca, left, Willie, middle, Lauren, right

We came from different worlds, yet we made our animals our world. Willie was raised on the family cattle ranch and has always been a lover of animals. I came west from the city in 1981 and easily developed a soft spot for the cattle and the cow dogs, a couple of Border Collies that are incredible with their savvy & herding abilities. We live on a ranch, where we raise Hereford/ Red & Black Angus Natural Beef. Our favorite time of year is calving season. One of our favorite pastimes is to ride the range checking the cattle in the Colorado High Country enjoying Mother Nature’s majestic splendor, the other is watching & playing with our dogs.

As a gift our daughter, Lauren received a Chihuahua puppy from her new husband* and promptly named him Earl. I know Earl belongs to my daughter, but the little guy captured my heart immediately & every time they went back to college, I felt something was missing. I started thinking that a Chihuahua might make a good pet for me. With plenty of help from some very capable puppy owners I began to formulate a desire of what to start to look for, particularly regarding temperament. After much research, searching & help from many owners I found my personal Chihuahua Grizwald, who is a gorgeous black tri, Alpha Male and one thing led to another. Now we are happily raising, breeding & showing Chihuahuas. We started out slowly with Chihuahuas we just had a heart for. Over the years, as we have grown & learned a lot, we have hand picked only AKC breed standard & show dogs, which have brought a new avenue of joy to us.

We Whelp all our babies in a radiant heated room in our home, so that their every need is met & monitored closely. This was also selfish on my part, now I can kiss & hold them all the time. When we moved to Hotchkiss in May 08, we revised the pups living quarters, again with radiant heated floors in our home, they live in the lap of luxury & have four of us to make sure they are healthy & happy. They have expansive outside play areas, where they can bask in the Colorado sun or frolic in the snow. We hope you appreciate the colors & traits we have chosen to breed in our Chihuahuas. We breed to enhance the breed with temperament, confirmation & of course, a healthy quality Chihuahua. All of our Chihuahuas are AKC registered &all are from Champion Lines & all have been raised with lots of TLC & dedication. Our temperament on our dogs in unsurpassed & has been noted by Judges. If we seem discerning on whom we sell to it is because we sincerely want our puppies only to go to people who will love them as much or more than we do.

—Special Thanks—

There are a few people we would like to thank;  Thank you Dr. Vincent for all the sleepless nights, guidance and education you give to me. My husband and daughter who have been extremely supportive and loving of the Chihuahua invasion.

—Before You Decide To Adopt—

Very sadly there has been a disgusting amount of unwanted Chihuahuas dumped into California Rescues in such large numbers they have had to be disbursed across the US. Chihuahuas are the smallest of all the breeds with the largest hearts & can live for 15 years or so. This is a choice you are making to adopt a dog, it is not a short term commitment. This breed lives to please, longs to be with people & be loved. Please do not rush into getting one of these puppies lightly or carelessly. One  trait I have noticed is that their little hearts & spirit can be crushed easily, it is a selfish act to adopt & then abandon or throw away. Always contact the breeder that you adopted from & more often than not if they are reputable breeder & care about their dogs they will take it back & find it a loving home.
